Thanks for your interest, man. Yes, Argolis is safe. We're not really affected by forest fires, due to our terrain that doesn't allow fire to spread. But other regions are facing serious problems almost every summer. Yesterday, the fires occured mainly in east Attica. The situation is horrible. There are around 80 people burnt alive (only so far), many more missing or injured, a thousand homes and cars burned down... A place name was even erased of the map, because there was nothing left there! Psychopathic bastard arsonists did their job again. Almost none of the fires are set accidentally. Profits and benefits are always a reason, just like back in 2007, when the death toll was as big as now and 1/3 of the Peloponnese was destroyed. Years 2000 and 2001 weren't good either. This year is already one of the worst, as far as this topic is concerned. What makes things even worse is that our government and institutions are unable to prevent such incidents. No planning, no measures and a shitton of mistakes. Now, a three-day national mourning has been declared and let's hope that this isn't only the beginning.

Damn, really bad situation, it's a shame that there are people who set the fire, it's not acceptable. Really hope it won't happen again and I'm happy to hear you're safe!
